With their open mesh bottoms, these stainless steel baskets are designed to maximize the cleaning action reaching the parts while keeping them from contacting the bottom or sides of the ultrasonic cleaning tank. The baskets hang from the top rim of the tank so that parts being cleaned are fully immersed in the cleaning solution. It is not advisable to place parts to be cleaned directly on the bottom of the tank because they can abrade and damage the vibrating surface as well as the parts themselves. Heavy parts positioned on the tank bottom can suppress the ultrasonic action reducing cleaning effectiveness. Plastic insulation on the basket handles makes it easy to remove the basket from the tank while warm.

Simple, high quality basket for the Elmasonic 30. I use it to clean airbrushes, and the grate is perfect for all but the 'cones' which are too small and fall right through. Only way to make this basket better would be to include one section of a finer mesh or even solid stainless steel for the very small parts.
