Product Description

Grinding wheels are sensitive to vibration due to their mass and speed. The faster your grinder, the more necessary it is to balance wheels. Truly balanced wheels will last longer, put a superior finish on edge tools (and in turn on your projects), reduce the wear on the grinder, and make the grinder run quieter. Easy to setup and use, the Oneway Balancing System will quickly and easily allow you to balance your grinding wheels for life. Oneway's balancing operation compensates for - out of round wheels, non-centered arbor holes, wheel density variation, and side to side thickness variation. System works for grinders with a 5/8" arbor. Grinding wheel must have a 1" diameter hole (with bushings removed). Canada. Oneway 5/8" Balancing System: Includes one right and one left hand balance flange; Balancing base; spacer washers; balancing nuts, washers and screws; and complete instructions. Balances two wheels.

TLDR; Includes parts to balance a left and right wheel for a bench grinder. Takes a bit of time but removes all the vibrations.OK....so I have written a couple of reviews in my life on Amazon and this product actually changed everything I thought I knew about grinders and grinding wheels...so here I am.The company that makes this builds a first class product but the marketing and information on Amazon is limited and the company website is not much better. This needs to be be better documented and highlight what you get as it is a complete kit for balancing two wheels for a 5/8 inch shaft bench grinder.Inside the package is the balancing stand and that is a heavy, but simple bent sheetmetal stand with two bearings mounted to create a low friction shaft for the wheels to turn on during the balancing portion.Next you will find a set of inner and outer flanges with right hand and left hand threads. The inner flanges are smooth with the machined in arbor that goes through the 1 inch hole your grinding wheel will need to have.At the end of the arbor are the threads that mate up the the outer flange that makes up the balancing portion with a raceway around the perimeter for the balancing nuts and screws. You will need to load up the screws , washers and nuts into the outer flanges and then follow the instructions on how to balance your wheels. These components are made out of very high quality anodized aluminum. The machining is excellent and they have not cut any corners as you look at the parts you can see a lot of chips had to be made to make the flanges integral to the arbor but that is the only way to get perfect concentricity and strength.Once you have your wheels balanced you will now mount them on your grinder. Included are two flat machined drive washers that go on the shaft of your grinder first. This provides a much larger contact surface and a flat area to tighten up the wheels against. You will only be reusing your grinders retaining nuts as the dished washers that came with the grinder are no longer needed.A key thing to remember is that you now have a balanced assembly that is held together with left or right hand threaded flanges. You must make certain you put the wheels on the appropriate sides or the tightening of the grinder retaining nut will loosen the flanges and you get to balance your wheels all over again. Ask me how I know this =)Once everything is all back in place you turn on your new or old grinder and you get to see what perfectly balanced wheels can do for your grinder. I was amazed at how much it improved my already decent grinder. I have a feeling there are a lot of grinders sold today that are really just in the need of balanced wheels. Also with the wheels balanced the load and wear that is on the grinder bearings is greatly reduced. This is a fantastic product and the world needs to know about it and the listing here needs to be spruced up to show off this great product!
