I have a big fat Oranda whose about 8 yrs old in one tank and a Fancy goldfish who is 9 yrs in the tank next to his. I swear sometimes they have pooping competitions. They eat a lot of different things like veggies fruits and sometimes worms or shrimp. This stuff works to get out the sludge on bottom, it eats it up and keeps ammonia levels down. They each are in a 55 gallon tank by themselves but they are big and poop giant foot longers. This stuff helps maintain a healthy aquarium and naturally too.I bought this for my 75 gallon fresh water aquarium to see if I could reduce the waste and reduce waste it did. It raised my ammonia level and killed 2 fish even though I used products recommended to prevent this from happening. It "removed" so much waste I had to clean both canister filters everyday for almost a week. I used this once before and had no problems with it. It is a good product and works but make sure you monitor your ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels very closely or you could have an aquatic tragedy. I personally will not buy this again. I have almost a whole bottle left and it will sit on the shelf until I finally decide to throw it away."I Love All Nutrafin products"...and this isn't an exception...it "Works Well"...and is priced right. I don't care for the 2 step program...that this requires. This is made for fish tanks, not turtles [and I use this...for our turtle tank]. For us, it took the place of the Nutrafin Turtle Clean [since Nutrafin doesn't sell the Turtle Clean anymore, in the U.S.].This NutraFin Waste Control product has really made a difference in my life! I have two medium-large fish tanks (29 and 26 gallons). The larger tank has some large Freshwater Clown Loaches who are darling but who eat a lot and make a lot of waste. I use this product and its companion product by the same manufacturer Cycle and the water stays clear and the fish seem happy and healthy. I make small water changes about once a week and have extra sponge media in two filter boxes for each tank. I enjoy my fish tanks much more now.I have used a number of products over the years with my aquarium. The Nutrifin Cycle and Waste Control have been the only biological methods that seem to work at all. I had a time when I couldn't find them locally, so I used other brands and my aquariums kept getting worse and worse. I found that I could order these on-line through Amazon, I got them and within a week my aquariums were back to healthy. An excellent product line.It does the job... I think... things seem to be going good lolI read up on this product before purchasing it. What I found after using it, is that even though I used it along with their Cycle product as suggested, the ammonia spikes were too high and I lost fish. It's sitting on a shelf. I'll probably donate it to a local pet shop where they have 300 feeder goldfish in a 50 gallon tank. Then again, those feeder goldfish are most resilient things I've seen. I wouldn't use this product with more delicate fish, like guppies. I though it would be a good idea since the four moms I have had about 30 babies each. Not a good idea.This Waste Remover works wonderfully, it is somewhat pricey but if it works then stick with it. I use this weekly to supplement my bacterial load in the gravel, to break down the waste and uneaten food particles. It can also be used directly in your filter housing to keep the build-up in check, especially inside the tubes and connections.
